Let him take rest.He served party well for over 50 years ' date=' why you want him to struggle till end.[/quote'] why should he rest when he is in perfect health, is ready to serve his country and has the support of more allies than the party's so-called "new leader"? Besides, the fact remains that BJP (and Modi) cannot win this election without taking guidance from seniors like him - his experience is invaluable.

He can easily fill the role of mentor. It will be easier for him to connect with every one if he didnt contested himself.

many senior leaders in BJP and many allies find him to be a far better choice than Modi so if he remains in good heath then I see no reason for him to retire.

but his son is the real brains behind the govt. senior badal is just the face of the SAD
Sr Badal still holds veto power over all major decisions and is still very active in running the Govt.

right now many in the party, media etc are going "Modi Modi Modi Modi" so this is not at all the right time to come out in the open to support AdvaniJi. All those who support AdvaniJi have enough patience and experience to know when they should make their support for him public. Nowhere close to it.

Then they are opportunists. So if Modi gets enough seats what will they do? retire?

AHMEDABAD: Gujarat chief minister Narendra Modi on Thursday greeted the Muslims at the beginning of the holy month of Ramzan, a move that invited criticism from the Congress, which said,"they will do anything to get votes". " Happy Ramzan. May this holy month bring joy, peace and prosperity in our lives," Modi wrote on his twitter account, extending warm greetings to the Muslims.
