There is another news (From the Times of India) that the committee will meet only on Friday August 10th at 11.30 a.m at mumbai. The meeting on 8th August was reported by NDTV India on their news channel. Not sure which is correct. The Times of India seems more authentic as they have given the time and the venue (Cricket Centre, Mumbai) of the meeting. http://articles.timesofindia.indiatimes.com/2012-08-04/top-stories/33034703_1_indian-team-twenty20-nz Another source quoting BCCI sources http://www.thesundayindian.com/en/story/team-india-selection-on-10-august-for-test-series/4/38679/ I think the 10th August is more or less confirmed date now. So another 2 days left. Zak and Veeru are in NCA now. Selectors may want to assess their fitness. http://www.thehindu.com/sport/cricket/article3735355.ece

More news on Zak & Veeru http://www.deccanherald.com/content/269713/sehwag-zaheer-check-nca.html

Sehwag, Zaheer check into NCA Bangalore, Aug 6, 2012, DHNS: Dashing opener Virender Sehwag and pace spearhead Zaheer Khan, who were part of IndiaÃÔ 4-1 ODI series triumph in Sri Lanka, reported at the National Cricket Academy on Monday for some fitness and training sessions. The two stalwarts are gearing up to be in shape in time for the two-Test series against New Zealand to be held in Hyderabad and Bangalore, beginning later this month. The Kiwis are also scheduled to play two T20 internationals following the Tests. Sehwag is said to be suffering from a mild glute-strain (lower back injury) but the right-hander is expected to be fit for New Zealand ties. VVS Laxman, presently playing for Hyderabad in the Safi Darashah tournament at Mysore, is also expected do go through some sessions at the NCA before the New Zealand assignment. Besides Sehwag and Zaheer, leg-spinner Amit Mishra too is traning at the academy.

Pujara, Rohit likely for New Zealand Tests

Virender Sehwag and Gautam Gambhir are likely to continue as the preferred openers, VVS Laxman is almost certain to retain his middle-order place, and Cheteshwar Pujara will be the only addition to the batting group that toured Australia. Rohit Sharma, who was the next man in should India have made changes in Australia, is likely to retain his Test slot despite a desperately disappointing limited-overs tour of Sri Lanka. The selection of the XI is some way off, but Pujara's return from injury and his mature knocks on tough West Indies pitches during the A tour might have pushed him ahead of Rohit and Ajinkya Rahane in the pecking order. As expected, Sachin Tendulkar will make his return to international cricket after he last played in the Asia Cup in March.
