Quite true that. Munaf is a very good first change bowler, keeps it tight. Nehra at least in some games was ok at bowling in the death.

His contribution against Pakistan is quite forgotten. People don't forgive him for the game against South Africa.

I don't think we would be chasing more than 220-230 if Nehra was around in the finals.

I would go with his recent performances and he clearly would have been way better than Sreesanth who gave away 0/46 ioff 5 overs. Zak applied plenty of pressure on SL batsmen only for Sreesanth to release it. If even a half-decent bowler was there at the other end I doubt SL would have gotten away.

So you are saying 3 overs 0/15 is a good start when the bowler at other end has figures of 1 wkt for 0 runs in 3 :omg: And it's not just the no. of runs, he didn't even pose any threat to the Lankan batsmen when the pitch had some life in it early on. I mean Lankans were finding it tough to just hang in there against Zak and against Sreesanth they were easily able to leave the deliveries, play him out or score runs. If we had a bowler who could simply pitch it at the right lenth the way Nehra had done in the last game against Pakis, SL would have been in deep trouble.

Nope Sreesanth was too short in the final allowing Lankan batsmen to easily see him off. And Nehra comfortably outbowled Sreesanth in the World Cup, and I doubt he would be as bad as Sreesanth. Nehra at least pitches the ball up which is exactly what was required in the final with the pitch aiding the fast bowlers initially but Sreesanth wasted the new ball. If we had pitched it up like Zak did from the other end either we would have gotten one more early wkt, or at the very least kept Lankans to a very low score in the first 10 forcing mistakes from them. Sreesanth gave them the breathing room allowing them to keep their wkts intact for the charge later on.
