Mallya tells employees to leave if they have lost faith

In his toughest message yet to employees of Kingfisher Airlines Ltd, chairman Vijay Mallya has asked protesting employees to resign and threatened to stop funding the carrier if they remain on strike. Debt-laden Kingfisher hasn't paid a majority of its staff in the past six months and has been under operational strain as pilots and engineers joined hands this week to strike work. "why should I spend everyday to keep our airline afloat if the actions of our own colleagues lead to loss of guest confidence and lower income by cancellation of flights or low load factors that result from uncertainty? Mallya said in a letter to his employees early Thursday. Mint has reviewed a copy of the letter, sent with the subject line «àedication and Commitment? Mallya, who has just returned from Europe, said investor confidence in Kingfisher is depleting because of such employee actions. "If some colleagues feel that I will be pressurized by flight cancellations, they are wrong", he wrote. Â"Instead, I will stop my own support as a few are effectively holding the entire company to ransom... If a section of our colleagues feel that their actions are justified and that they know best, they can elect to leave our company. But such threats and disruptive actions are not acceptable. Mallya has written to employees several times since tax authorities froze the company's accounts. The warning came after Mallya pledged to infuse capital into the airline, for the first time separating this from a change that has been sought in government policy to allow foreign airlines to pick up stake in Indian carriers. Airlines have been lobbying the government to allow foreign airlines to invest in Indian carriers to help shore up capital. It is not clear from Mallya's statement about the direction the government is likely to take in this regard. The policy has remained unchanged for a decade. A Kingfisher employee said Mallya's letter was the most "demoralizing" from him so far.

he cud have said it earlier .. now he wants his employee to resign after they have not been paid for 5-6 mths !!! and his son is busy gifting flat worth crores to his girl friends.

My manager told this to me and I asked him to show an official notification of such a rule - my nature of work doesn't require specific time zone adherence. He said - there is NO such but a manager can enforce such a rule. I said - Please send and e-mail to me regarding the same, CC the HR department head and your manager, we will see about it. Needless to say - I never received that mail and my manager never in the next 10 months tried to "dare me".

I did - because I did the work better than those mofo's there. The appraisal was a three way hand shake in the company and the senior manager was really happy with me. So my manager had to suck it on! :thefinger:
