Some of the explanations made total sense. 1) 26 out of 27 mine have not started mining, where did the loss come from if coal mining didnt start at all? 2) State goverments ruled by BJP allies vetoed whenever congress wanted any change 3) Most of the policies were just carried froward from BJP days and not put in place by congress, so why is BJP making such a hue and cry?
Chalo. Somebody bought into it.

Ahahahaha. And from 'zero loss' to denial of zero loss to coal not leaving mother Earth so no loss, Congress now settles for 'next to zero loss'.....Go figure guys. Kuch yeh tark samajh mein aaye toh hamein bhi samjhana...:hmmm:

The 'policy' was in place since Narsimha Rao's time. if non-Congress states 'asked' for dubious allocations, why were they indulged? Why was the allocation given and now why this bl;eak defence it is not MMS's fault?

If Bombay can be renamed to Mumbai, Calcutta to Kolkotta, Bangalore to Bengalaroo, Madras to Chennai, than can we please rename Lok Sabha to Loot Sabha? 'Lock' Sabha is still better than Loot Sabha though.....

It's good that CMs and ex-CMs of Chattisgarh, Jharkhand and Orrissa will be questioned for recommending uneligible and non-performing companies for allocations be they in ruling or opposition parties. The Raman Singhs, Mundas, Patnaiks, Sorens must be accountable too. For far too long, CMs in our nation have enjoyed too much discretionary power. But why are central ministers like Subodh Kant Sahay, MMS, Jaiswal and other bigger players also not questioned?

Fear of litigation of de-alloting coal blocks is just another pathetic excuse because any rollback means accepting the truth that the Govt gifted away coal blocks for vested interests: http://www.rediff.com/news/slide-show/slide-show-1-final-part-interview-coal-gate-/20120906.htm This is rich. CBI has filed an 'FIR' in coal-block irregularities against 5 companies and unnamed officials? How can officials allot blocks without permission from their political masters since according to PMO these allotments were done on recommendations of non-Congress Govts? If the whole allotment was transparent, why is CBI investigating anything and reviews been done? If coal blocks need 7 years to be operational and new allotments after de-allocation may take another 7 years to show results, than why is the Govt wasting 15 years of tax payers time with this hide n seek game and how come operational blocks jumped from 1 to 37 by same Chidu who was arguing a day back that since coal was still in mother Earth there was no loss? And when will MMS be questioned by the CBI for issuing 2 blocks to ISPAT on Sahay's request bypassing regulations and screening of the same within a day? Lies, lies and more lies.

I fail to understand where this BS of MMS being a man of 'honesty and integrity' is coming from? There is a saying in English - Fool me once shame on you, fool me twice shame on me! How can an economist, a man who has been a part of many ministries, a man familiar with the inner mechanisms of his party's governance and a sense of what is expected of him be so oblivious to so many scams happening and even after SC intervention in some of them, be still compliant to more such scams? How is it that he never put in safeguards despite repeated public uproar and SC trouble over many policy decisions he approved? It can only mean 2 things - He is the dumbest guy in India, even mentally challenged who is not fit to be in any position of decision making or he is the shrewdest, most clever politician who knows how to get his hands dirty without getting caught. It is illogical to assume that he is a dumb guy, family loyalist and the fall guy for all wrongs and sins of the UPA. So the answer is the second one. If a bank gets looted and it's chief security officer refrains from wielding his weapons and doing his duty to stop the looters, the bank will not award him a medal for being honest and for not participating him in loot but have him arrested for being a part of the loot or dereliction of duty. Yedda banke peda khana koi iss aadmi se seekhen.

Blaming the opposition states for opposing auction is fine, but the fact is Congress and UPA allies made allotments to companies of own relatives and like 2G scam made money of offloaded shares after allotments and MMS can no longer hide under the carpet how 'transparent and lawfully' the whole process was. Even chaddi-baniyan and CD manufacturing companies got mining rights [how it would benefit people is not known]. It is a shame that now that the murky details of the scam come out of as much as 90 of the allocated 140 blocks face de-allocation. That alone indicates how hugely corrupt and irregular the process was. Auctioning of natural resources is not really a good option if it is in spheres were people may face inflation at end use, but since good intentions are now used to mask vast corruption, crony capitalism and personal gains by ministers, it is now the only option left to nip these malafide and corrupt practices in the bud. It is obvious now that MMS prefers to stay quiet because he has neither answers nor any option left to save his own corrupt skin. The Govt asks why he should go when people have given them 5 years to govern. We gave you 5 years to govern us and not to loot us and make personal profits so you should go instead of abusing the mandate for sinking the nation further in your looting spree.

Congress argues that 'notional loss' is no loss to India in real. That was the crux of disputing CAG on 2G where the 'zero loss' theory was floated. If coal never left mother Earth where was the loss? Thanks for putting it that way. Now on we must also stop paying taxes. Notional revenues based on advance tax targets aren't actual revenue at all. If money does not leave my mother bank account where is the benefit or loss in reality? Its all notional folks and so Govt won't be at a loss if we don't pay taxes.

The PM may say that 'due processes were followed as per rules in coal allocation in transparent manner' after the department studies proposals and verifies antecendents of applicants. But a couple of letters that BJP has dug up speak a different story of how PMO's office allocated a coalblock to ISPAT within one day of a letter recommending the same from Congress's tourism minister Subodh Kant Sahay from in Jharkhand in 2008!. Jhooth chilla chilla ke bolne se sach nahi ban sakta. Sawalon ke jawab na dekar sawaalon ki nahin par khudki aabroo bachate aa rahe hai hamare 'honest' PM. Over to MMS and Sonia G now.....More lies of Mr. 'Honest' and his looting lying cabinets's 'traqnsparent coal block allotments by law' exposed after Subodh Kant Sahay's ill-begotten largese for ISPAT: http://www.rediff.com/business/column/column-coal-gate-economic-reforms-to-economic-deforms/20120903.htm

The Tatas and Jindals got huge coal blocks without screening committees directly through minister groups recommendations against all rules. The public sector was overlooked for same allocations. Was this because of 'opposition states' too? Jindal has benefited from the coal blocks but sells no cheap power as the objective was making huge profits so really where is the cheap power for the people? Reliance power in Mumbai is the highest so where is the end user benefit? A former minister of state for coal with the Govt - Santosh Bagrodia got rich mining contracts for his brother's company from a public sector company within a month of assuming office. What rules were followed and was this the opposition states fault as well? As expected the Govt will bolt the stable in public pressure after the horses have escaped. Why was a lock-in period preventing divesting of stakes not done for earlier allotted companies that consisted of ineligible fly by night operators who made a stock market killing and vanished? Why are they not being penalized now in lieu of 'technicalities'?
