Joke of the year! I just read someone say Kallis is a the greatest batsman of the generation!? Lets not get ahead of ourselves here! Check out Kallis' averages against the Aus teams of 1990s to 2005, check out his average away before coming up with such atrocious statements. Granted he's in better form than SRT now, but nothing, not even your grudge against Sachin, will take away from the fact that he's the greatest of the generation, and for me anyway the greatest of all time. Period. The guys going through awful form. Fine. He should probably call it a day. Fine. But don't push your luck.

calling it lean patch is understatement lean patch spanning over almost 2 years now ? lets put things in perspective since world cup he has scored one hundred in all formats against bangladesh ....flopped away,flopped at home worst part getting worse with every inning ...in bad patch u get better with every inning when there is even hint of form coming back but its opposite for him first fast bowling troubled him now even spin .....sorry but time is up i sad that even before series stated ..hopefully he will go after this series if he prolongs it till australia (in the name of his favourite opponent and maybe they will be no 1 team then ) then i dont think even ram will support him.. and that tells ya something

Care to elaborate how Kallis being a better than Tendulkar "joke of the year"? Kallis averages 5 7 to Tendulkar's 54 and is 2nd in the list of Test 100s. How do these stats show Tendulkar is better than Kallis? As for "grudges" what grudge are you referring to? I haven't met either Tendulkar or Kallis, nor am I related to either. Calling A better than B doesn't mean someone has a "grudge" against B. It's just an opinion. Calling it as a grudge is an easy way out as you can't argue for A statistically. Kallis may not have scored that much against Aussies in the time period you mentioned but that's not the yardstick for deciding between the two over their entire careers. Coz I can come up with an arbitrary timeframe where Kallis has done well or point to the fact that Kallis has seldome performed a disappearing act while his team was being pummeled 0-8.

Earlier I never thought of Kallis as a great coz he missed out against better opponents but over the last 6-8 years he has rectified that flaw. He showed up against Aus when SA beat Aus in Aus and same in this series so far. Whenever SA need someone to stand up, Kallis is there for them either with the bat or the ball. He has been SA's rock for quite some time now and Kallis' retirement would be huge for SA as it will affect the balance of their side. They will need 2 players to fill in for Kallis when that happens.

:hysterical: Southafrica will have a tough time replacing even as a slip fielder let alone batsman and bowler.Southafrica really lacks options in batting currently outside the team.Otherwise tried and tested failures like mckenzie would njot be brought back again and again.
