That's even a bigger joke, seeing this is a four day game, what prospect does Binny have playing as an all-rounder for India in Tests:facepalm: Rather an extra specialist batsman play or play 5 bowlers instead.
Binny has done extremely well in the last Ranji season. The other reserves here are Dhawan and Yousuf who have done NOTHING last season. He is playing as an allrounder here and has already taken more wickets than any of the specialist bowlers. He was easily the country's best allrounder in the last Ranji season and deserves his spot. P.S. Can't remember many FC/Test matches where teams have played with 5 bowlers.

So' date=' should we play with 3 spinners against England? :hmmm:[/quote'] Ishant too has not get his rhythm back yet. He too is struggling with his action though still bowling better than Yadav. I will see how Aaron and Awana do in FC before that series and then chose one out of these 4 along with Zak. Zakk to has been blunt though.

I remember you mentioning Mumbai's Darekar as a potential spin option. Considering Harmeet Singh was chosen ahead of him why hasn't he even been given a bowl yet. Ojha got a few already
1) Darekar is in the India-A team currently playing in New Zealand. So, Harmeet has not been selected ahead of Darekar. 2) I dunno why Pujara is not giving Harmeet the ball :idunno:

Awana is yet to do anything spectacular to deserve a Test cap.

He was one of the highest wicket taker last season, so why not? Aren't players selected based on their FC performances and if he starts well this season too why not, when other bowlers are struggling. So who would you select then?

FC ---> ODI/India-A ----> Test team That is the way, I don't remember too many Indian pacers doing well after being drafted straight into the Test team from Ranji. I would prefer Yadav/Ishant/PK to Awana anyday against England.

This is exactly opposite. Our bowlers normally do well initially and then fall away. Munaf, Sreeshant, RP, and Ishant. They all did well straight away and I guess Awana should be playing in warmup match against England which will give a better idea. And the thing is when Ishant and Yadav are not doing any good, you will have to try others and take risk because we dont know how long will Zaheer stretch, so we need bowlers who we can draft. He wont do any worse than them. Today, was a great opportunity for Awana, but on a green pitch, they are playing 2 left arm spinners. How we will have fast bowlers when we so ignore them.

Sreeshant played quite a few ODIs before getting a break in Tests. Ditto for RP Singh. Munaf had a great outing against the English team for BP XI and took 10 wickets in the match. Ishant was the only one to be drafted into the team directly from Ranji Trophy and had a soft debut (against Bangladesh) in a match where he hardly got to bowl. And at that time, both Ishant and Ranadeb Bose were travelling with the team all along for quite a few series. Awana can be looked into only if he does something spectacular in the warm-up match against England.
