He is a leg-spinner in the Mushtaq Ahmed mould, relying more on googlies and top-spinners than leg-spinners. However, in recent times, Chawla has been flighting and turning his leg-spinners more, which has also made his wrong ’un more effective. Yea , Chawla seems a fiery character , from his wicket taking celebrations. Its good that we have an attacking spinner in our team. It pained me no end to see below-par players like Nikhil Chopra , Vijay Bharadwaj , Aashish Kapoor play for India , pretending to be spinners. If Chawla had taken the wicket of Mascarenhas , i am certain he would have got man of the match. He broke the back the english chase with three middle-order wickets. That england same close despite losing all those wickets in the middle overs shows how crucial his wickets were.
