If you go back in time there are allegations that Amitabh had in the very least extremely cordial relations with some of the Bombay mobsters of the time, most notably Haji Mastan and Karim Lala. Amitabh's closeness was perhaps most with Haji Mastan, the gangster who had inpisred Amitabh's character in Yash Chopra's Deewar.
