He is beyond any numbers now. All I wish from/for him is one last hurrah and help India win the World Cup. Even at 36, he is our ODI's main batsman which is saying something, he bloody owns the ODI arena and with WC in hands it'll just make it more sweeter.

that would be the best farewell if the remaining 10 can play half as good as him.
That's the only worrisome part. He gave his best in 03 WC and depended only once on his teammates and they failed to pass the test :sniffle:. That was our best chance, IMO. If SRT does not get to hold the WC it'll be the biggest shame and sham in our Indian cricketing history :((

It'll be a shame if he doesn't get to hold that trophy' date=' but not the worst thing ever[/quote'] Not the worst thing ? A man who literally owns the ODI arena does not get to hold the format's most esteemed trophy, if that is not a sham then what is ?

Its a team game ..... expecting one man to drag the rest by the scruff of the neck is a bit unrealistic.
I am not saying he has to win it for us, but I trust him more than our other 10 players if we are to win the WC. I want him to lift the WC, no ifs and buts :hitler:

interesting piece of stat regarding centuries in ODIs 1. Sachin = 46 2. Ponting = 29 difference = 17 = # of centuries by Des-Haynes, a record that was unbroken for many many years, until God took-over.

I think we had a very good shot at the WC in 96 as well. And Sachin was in awesome form. If not for Azhar's moronic decision to bowl first.:wall:

^You go to UVa' date=' right ? :wall:[/quote']
:hysterical::hysterical:
For once I thought it counted as two but I guess I was wrong!:hatsoff: Cricinfo shows that it counts as only one...:winky:
