Is Art of New Ball Bowling Dying?

Watching test cricket seems boring to me. No matter how flat the surface is new cherry should challenge opening batsmen. We have seen two of the better attacks struggle in AUS. Much hyped English attacking was put to sword in Ahmedabad last week. Gone are the days when new ball bowlers would give quality openers a testing examination. Wasim, McGrath, Pollock, Walsh and Ambrose use to trouble openers even on flat surfaces. What has changed? Is it quality of seamers? Flatness of wickets? Quality of cricket balls? Improvement in openers? Honestly I find this boring. It's becoming predictable. I know some will point to AUS being 40/3 and 50/3 but to me that's down to unsettled top 4 in their line up.

I think so. But we have some absolute roads across the word, except maybe Englad, NZ and SA that don't make things any easier.
