Clarke Posted December 23, 2012 Posted December 23, 2012 So that's one thing they share in common with Americans: "I loves my gun".
Utalk Posted December 23, 2012 Posted December 23, 2012 Shocking. Law and order naam ki cheez nahi hai.
jairamesh Posted December 23, 2012 Posted December 23, 2012 Meh...nothing out of the ordinary, here is another one http://tribune.com.pk/story/483208/political-worker-accused-of-raping-hindu-girl/ Political-worker-accused-of-raping-hindu-girl CHACHRO:* A 14-year-old Hindu girl, N, was raped allegedly by a local leader of the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) early Friday morning near Chachro, Umerkot. The suspect, M, forcibly entered the victim’s house in Mubarak Tarr village, which is 35 kilometres from Chachro, along with two other men. He tortured the victim’s mother first and then raped the girl, while his accomplices guarded the door.

In India 2 month old girls get raped regardless of religion in major cities. Yes above case is 'out of the ordinary', the target was killed in presence of their Rangers. Do you see AK47s in hands of local goons in India and committing murder in India's AIIMS?

Do you see AK47s in hands of local goons in India and committing murder in India's AIIMS? This Is Karachi. Where politico-ethnic murders have become part of the city's landscape. There have even been people being shot whilst in an ambulance. After a 14 year old girl got shot at point blank by strangers just coz she chose to go to school, every other criminal act becomes ordinary
Lurker Posted December 23, 2012 Posted December 23, 2012 Reminds me of JJ Hospital shootout in Mumbai. Karachi must be the one of the most violent city on earth along with Rio and Juarez.

Protecting Railway Stations & Airports is one thing, private hospitals another (which the hospital management has to consider).

Govt is not responsible for security of its citizens? Then why Delhi people are protesting against gang rape? Govt cannot provide security to every woman. There was a security lapse by Police and Hospital guards Authorities at Paras Hospital said that it was common practice for 'high profile' patients to force their way inside a hospital carrying weapons. http://articles.timesofindia.indiatimes.com/2012-12-12/gurgaon/35772641_1_assailants-cctv-footage-gunmen-fire

Govt cannot provide security to every woman. There was a security lapse by Police and Hospital guards That there's nothing like 100% security. People are protesting because of the gruesomeness of the incident & the overall security scenario i.e. callous attitude of the cops, the pathetic judicial process & political/administrative incompetence. If anyone thinks every bus/train/car etc can be 100% secured, they are retarded. Tomorrow if there's a shooting at a public lavatory, we're not going to station cops there. The problem you're getting to with the last link is our VIP culture, and it cannot be fixed by securing every building in the country.

Actually there is no one single reason for which people are protesting.some are demanding capital punishment , some are just protesting the incident, while some are protesting against the system.anyway that's different issue. A hospital cannot be compared to lavatory or any other building .serious pateints including the victims of voilence are bought in hospitals .It is the duty of Hospital administration , Govt and police to make security arrangements as any type of voilence ,even shouting loudly can risk lives of other patients .If govt knows that nearby area's have people which are known for gundagardi' voilence then there is nothing wrong to have 2-3 constable to patrol the hospital.
Clarke Posted December 25, 2012 Posted December 25, 2012 If govt knows that nearby area's have people which are known for gundagardi' voilence then there is nothing wrong to have 2-3 constable to patrol the hospital. OK, lets just differ on that. My POV is gundagardi has to be removed by training & empowering the police well enough so that the gunda cannot own/use a gun or carry out other illegal acts. Stationing police is just tackling a symptom, not the root cause. Sure, its great to have cops wherever we deem required, but there's a very finite limit to that and they're better used in law enforcement than patrolling xyz location. That's my view, end of story.
