Marut Posted January 16, 2013 Posted January 16, 2013 India should aim for 300 every game. They should play at a run rate of over 5 in the first 40 overs' date=' and then go all out in the last 10. We can definately post and chase 300 if we use this method regulararily[/quote'] 300 is impossible to get every game. Nature of the wicket also matters, so also the opposition. It is impossible to get 300 against likes of Junaid with that form. Playing at a certain s/r for 40 overs is not controllable while facing bowlers of international class, especialy when they loose early wickets. I liked the way they got to 280 after loosing four early wickets. Target 250 initially, and get to 300/350 if batting conditions favour us. Setting yourself a goal 300 creates panic mode in batsmen as every dot ball increases the pressure.
Cevno Posted January 16, 2013 Posted January 16, 2013 Mohali in this weather should have good movement and it has bounce anyway, and Dharamshala generally has movement due to the hills too. Hoping Ranchi is not a complete flat one.
saneindian Posted January 16, 2013 Posted January 16, 2013 Ranchi is nearly 700m above sea level and will have wintery conditions too. Expect a bowler friendly track there as well.
Cevno Posted January 16, 2013 Posted January 16, 2013 Dunno, with the types of techniques Jharkhand batsman have cannot be sure.
Pagalpanti Posted January 19, 2013 Posted January 19, 2013 Not exactly a bowling friendly wicket but another two-paced wicket and dry enough for turn for spinners.
Vivek.S.123 Posted January 20, 2013 Posted January 20, 2013 I hate pattas. Wickets with help for bowlers will help our batsmen in the long run. :cantstop:
vayuu1 Posted January 21, 2013 Posted January 21, 2013 I think if we bcci is gutsy enough we can have all type of pitches Mohali,Hyderabad and wankhede = bouncy tracks Dharamshala, cuttuck, kanpur ,Bangalore =swinging tracks Delhi,Ahmedabad ,kokata =slowish low bounce tracks Chennai, braboune,Nagpur=turning tracks.
Spiderguy252 Posted January 21, 2013 Posted January 21, 2013 Don't get carried away. England are minnows when they come out here. The Bangas would do better.
