Pitches in India seem a lot less batsman friendly these days.

I know that BCCI was trying to make pitches in domestic cricket less batsman friendly, which of course is good. This seems to have tranferred itself to pitches we have for the india games as well. Since the eng test series the pitches seem a lot less flat and more in it for bowlers. Yes odd flat one will be tere like rajkot but overall it seems harder to bat then in previous years. Pitch todau seem not easy to bat for example In fact seamers seem to have more joy eg in pak series

Kochi assists seamers early. I remember in 98 when we played against Aus, we lost Sachin, Ganguly and Kambli for some 20-30 runs then it was a belter, Azhar and Jadeja scored centuries and we made 310.

We haven't played much odi cricketer in last one year at home. Just played 1 home game last year and don't go much by recent odi series. there 2 low scoring games. Delhi always produces low scoring games in Odi's anyway.

When India bats pitches become less batsman friendly. When our bowlers bowl, they become batsman friendly! While Indians were complaining about the hostile wicket at Birmingham and got shot out for 224, England went on to make a massive 710/7 and when Indians pretended that the wicket miraculously changed when England batted, India crumbled to 89/6 two hours later and were bowled out for 244. On the same wicket England made 710/7, India had made 111/7 and 130/7. Was it a batsman friendly or bowler friendly wicket?

Like these type of pitches. Something was there for everyone if they played well enough. Pacers got movement with the new ball. Spinners were getting turn and batsman could still score runs if they applied themselves. Good work Groundsman, even though the toss was a slight advantage. :hatsoff:

May it continue like this. Our young seam bowlers like bowling on decent tracks and are not yet ready with the exp of bowling on flat pattas. Need these kind of pitches at more venues.

One thing was clear today - all India need to do is to bat decently and score 270+ (if batting first) and the score board pressure will get the opponent. This has been our modus operandus and it has worked well for many years. Recently we struggle to put runs on board and our bowling (which is not world class) gets walloped.

India should aim for 300 every game. They should play at a run rate of over 5 in the first 40 overs, and then go all out in the last 10. We can definately post and chase 300 if we use this method regulararily

It would be nice to see another seamer and off spinner from FC play in the last couple of ODIs. Ashwin doesnt seem to bowl a consistent line and length anymore. Every alternate delivery he is bowling is a half tracker or down leg or wide outside off. If he takes this form to Aussie series, we are focked. Last two ODIs at Mohali and Dharamsala could help seam bowlers. So instead of Dinda or Ishant who havent been effective in tests, someone else could be tested to see how he performs.
