Tridibans_16 Posted January 19, 2013 Posted January 19, 2013 17.1 Kleinveldt to BB McCullum, OUT, McCullum is gone lbw, Kleinveldt strikes, that was a good length delivery that swerved back in, struck on the back foot, McCullum spoke to the umpire about a review, but it seems that the lack of power at the ground means all the tools of the referral system can't be used, McCullum will have to walk off, this is bizarre scenes from Boland Park, doesn't reflect too well on the organisation Well can't blame the umpires really, but isn't it against the rules if the batsman wants a review but not allowed? What if the match was in a crucial stage like last over etc. ? Also, I guess this is another of the technical issues of DRS that was never ever been imagined by the ICC. Edit: For those who are not watching the match, the live coverage is interrupted and as I believe the television coverage is having issues. Hence DRS can't be used :hehe:
Marut Posted January 19, 2013 Posted January 19, 2013 A situation that occurs once in 100 matches is not an excuse to not use DRS. There may be better reason for not using DRS but this is not one of them.
Crookbond Posted January 19, 2013 Posted January 19, 2013 In the spirit of the game, Graeme Smith should have allowed McCullum to continue. NO? :phehehe:
jairamesh Posted January 19, 2013 Posted January 19, 2013 Surely I would have thought all International standard stadiums are required to have back-up diesel generators?!

I agree but just wanted to point out that even when people feel we have most issues covered with DRS, there will be new issues popping out. Hence it can never be perfect. PS: I am one of the posters who support DRS. Also, in this instance, I feel match should have been paused atleast to see if coverage can be bought back. If not, then it is unfair for the batting team.
Tridibans_16 Posted January 19, 2013 Author Posted January 19, 2013 From New Zealand, here's Rob: "Well you South Africans can mock our country as much as you want for all out cricketing issues, but at least we have discovered electricity here"

Spiderguy252 Posted January 19, 2013 Posted January 19, 2013 If Flower was NZ coach, he would have brought the house down.
Crookbond Posted January 19, 2013 Posted January 19, 2013 There should be a C/L method where match is interrupted due to technical issues like this :winky: Chewtiya/Lav** method seems a good way to determine. :agree:
Tridibans_16 Posted January 19, 2013 Author Posted January 19, 2013 Chewtiya/Lav** method seems a good way to determine. :agree: Are you a mind reader? I thought you would ask what does C/L stands for and I would answer Ch****/ Lavd***** method :(( You stole all the fun
