Re: Test ODI averages Total BS. Anyone who doesnt play well consistently is always dropped..there is no use in hiding behind excuses like batting order, shuffling or class. Sehwag,up until now was never asked to be dropped since his debut...Because he performed...Laxman had 3/4 stellar years but hes been around for a decade.. Its not quantum physics...U score,u stay.......u dont,u get dropped!

Re: Test ODI averages

yoda' date=' completly agreed. This is the ultimate truth, Most Indian fans want to see end of Laxman, almost 90 percent of indian cricket fans. Its unfortunate that such a class player is ignored and treated casually by selectors and media.[/quote'] Why is that the case? surely there has to be some reason behind it! IMO in terms of genuine cricketing ability he is IND's 2nd most skillful player after Sachin Tendulkar.

Re: Test ODI averages Using Laxman's overall average to judge him as a player is not fair. He has a good 25 innings as an opener where he was never comfortable with and averages less than 30. Take those away and his average of 47-48 does more justice to his utility and achiements as a superb middle order batsman.
