Karthik has done a good job but Dhoni wins hands down on pitches like these. I don't reckon Karthik would have done any better in the first two tests . Dhoni still should be the first choice both for batting and keeping skills.

Dhoni is still first choice but it will help in fostering a healthy competition and with so much cricket being played it should be possible for both to get decent opportunities.
