India-KXIP fan Posted March 3, 2013 Posted March 3, 2013 Harbhajan is in the squad cause he was highest wicket taker 3 times in these India-Aus series'. His record suggests when he's bowling well he is dangerous and he showed form against Mumbai. He had more wickets and better economy than Ojha. Off spinners generally do well against lefties and Australia have plenty of them. Bhaji recovered from poor 1st innings in 1st match and dismissed a few lefties. Bowled well yesterday too. 2nd innings will only improve his figures. Dhoni obviously felt Jadeja could do Ojha's job after his good bowling in Ranji and he did just that. Panesar's darts worked better than Ojha's flight and same with Jadeja's darts. No way Ojha is coming back anytime soon. :bye: Even in the best form of his life he managed an average of 30 in the series :haha: Out bowling a spinner poor against a strong batting line up like Ashwin helped him though. Bhaji only played 1 match there and poor umpiring made his figures look slightly poor rather than very good.

There is no point in bringing Bhajji's performance from ages ago because using the same logic Gambhir and Sehwag wouldn't be dropped. Ashwin is not poor against a good bowling line up, your current Bhajji is abysmal against any line ip for over 2 years. Most of your Bhajji are poor wind up attempts and if that's your intention, pretty poor form from you Must say, it also makes other posters question your credibility in everything else. When wad the last time Bhaaji was good against strong teams? 5 years ago? 10 years ago? how is it relevant now? Sehwag best in tests is 2 300s. should I use that to say at best Pujara has never matched up to him so Sehwag should always be preferred to Pujara? I know you will again avoid this and come back on other testa to repeat the same thing about Ashwwin being poor against good teams. But at least everyone knows your credibility.
Manny_Pacquiao Posted March 4, 2013 Posted March 4, 2013 if jadeja is troubling the aussies with his mediocre SLA, imagine what a far superior bowler like ojha could do. dhoni thinks jadeja adds 'balance' which is ****ing hilarious and gives you a good idea of how tiny his brain is when it comes to test cricket. I am not defending his selection, but there is no evidence of any CSK connection. Yes we are good at recycling players who haven't done much to deserve a selection, and Vijay and Harbhajan are not the first in our cricketing history. Yuvraj sucked in tests, yet kept coming back. What connection was that? Ishant has sucked the longest in tests, why does he keep getting picked? Didn't RP Singh get picked a while back with practically nothing to show for to deserve another selection? LOL, talk about missing the point. Yuvraj got picked because dhoni thought that his style of batting was 'intimidating' and because he thought his contribution could be 'crucial'. ishant is there because dhoni likes his super straight, harmless bowling. does he deserve to be in the side? hell no RP is dhoni's best friend. just like his other best friend, raina, who keeps finding his way into the test side while more accomplished batsmen with far better records are left out. tamil connection or not, the recurring theme in all these bullshit selections is dhoni's will-power, and that stems from the autonomy GIVEN to him by the board president. the reason why people talk about a tamil/CSK connection etc. is because the board president VETOED the selection panel's decision to **** dhoni off the captaincy, and because dhoni captains his IPL team. its like corruption happening in public. if dhoni had the captaincy taken off him, nobody would say a word against the president because we would know this team is being run on merit (to some extent). the president you are defending is a scummy **** who is using the indian cricket team for his own ends. well done. apologists like you deserve a team like this...
Ultimate_Game Posted March 4, 2013 Posted March 4, 2013 Ishant should be replaced by Shami or any other leading bowler from domestic cricket (barring Dinda). And Bhajji needs to be dropped in favor of Ojha.
