fineleg
I am sure many of you liked the "final over". I will play him in Final, just becos AA is crap, and I'd ideally have liked Y.Pathan to play today, but you cannot bring Y.Pathan DIRECTLY into final. Between Joginder Sharma and Piyush Chawla, just coz of today's experience, MAYBE Jogi for Final? BTW - SEHWAG most likely WILL NOT play the FINAL. Is it Y.Pathan or KKD in place of SEHWAG? Brought in Fahad Alam for a key match India shouldn't be stubborn. Drop this weak link Joggy and bring in Yusuf Pathan - India will need a LONG batting lineup on Monday Link to comment
The Outsider
He should play. His last over was nerveless and should be given more chances. Link to comment
Lurker
Yes. There is no way you can just randomly pick a player and play him directly in finals...I say let Sharma play. Link to comment

fineleg
Sehwag was limping badly (even during bowling) I HOPE and PRAY he is alrite. But in 2 days, from our past experiences, we can say TOUGH LUCK for sehwag. Lets hope though. Link to comment
ludhianvi
Joginder is a hard hitting batsmen himself. Too bad, he didnt get his chance yet. The question is who are you going to replace him with? Agarkar? Link to comment
sandtest
I say, Keep Jogi Sharma.....whatever he bowls, he is a lucky sign/good omen for us. I had already a heated arguement with Predz for this:D...that Agarkar is really a bad omen, whenever he plays we loose in tight situation...:D Link to comment

Chandan
BTW - SEHWAG most likely WILL NOT play the FINAL. Is it Y.Pathan or KKD in place of SEHWAG? Quite true. He certainly is doubtful! Sehwag doubtful for tomorrow's final with groin injury PTI Sunday, September 23, 2007 20:38 IST JOHANNESBURG: Nursing a groin injury, star Indian opener Virender Sehwag will have to clear a fitness test Monday before he can play in the final of the Twenty20 cricket World Cup against Pakistan. Sehwag picked up the injury while batting in the semifinal match against Australia, after which he had to take a runner. India captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni admitted that the injury had cast a cloud of doubt over the opener's prospect of playing in the final Monday but he exuded confidence that the Delhi batsman would clear the fitness test. "Hopefully he should be fine. His fitness will be assessed on the morning of the match," Dhoni said. Meanwhile, there seems no such worry on either Dhoni or Yuvraj Singh's fitness. Dhoni had suffered back pain in the match against South Africa when he dived to stop S Sreesanth's wayward delivery that drifted down the leg. Dinesh Kaarthick, playing in place of injured Yuvraj, kept wicket for the remainder of the match. Dhoni, in fact, had to clear a fitness test before he was allowed to play last night's semifinal against Australia. Though he came up with an 18-ball cameo of 36 to swell the tally, Dhoni was clearly struggling whenever he tried to swivel. And before he walked out to bat, he was seen getting massage done in the dug-out area. It was a strain on his lower back on the right hand side and Dhoni handed over the keeping gloves to Kaarthick, for he did not want to aggravate the injury. On the other hand, Yuvraj sat out of the match against South Africa with tendonitis in the left arm. He, however, came back to steer India to the final of the tournament with a 30-ball blitzkrieg of 70 but later admitted that he could still feel the pain. "It's still bit sore but as long as we are winning, it's fine with me," said the left-hander, hinting he would not like to miss tomorrow's summit showdown with the arch-rivals. ------------------------------------------------------------------- It'll be tough for India if Sehwag is not there. Gaurav
Let Jogs play as he will have a say with the bat I feel. I get nervous when he bowls but the kid will come good I feel. Joginder Sharma has a few things in common with Kapil Dev. He plays for Haryana, can give the ball a mighty thwack and has the surprise factor with his nippy medium pace. Most importantly, he has the convention-defying streak that Kapil displayed everytime he played. Joginder bowls with a mixed action and can trouble the best with his lively seam bowling - like he did to Rahul Dravid, VVS Laxman and Yuvraj Singh while playing for India A against India Seniors before the Australia series. With two successive hundreds and a ten-wicket haul at the start of the 2004-05 Ranji Trophy season, he won himself a place in India's one-day squad for the tour to Bangladesh. He was back to the grind of domestic cricket after that series but outstanding performances in the next two years won him a spot in the squad for the home series against West Indies in early 2007. THX_1138
if sehwag needs nuts to play tomorrow i would gladly part with one. provided of course he uses it to launch a blitzkreig on pakistani bowlers. and considering the amount of use they go through with me, should not be much of a problem. as for jogi, dropping the lad right now would speak volumes of what we think of his confidence and his ability. let his mature, let his grow. stick with the lad. Did you watch his little cameo at Rawalpindi against PAK in the 2004 series ? Nearly won India the match I don't think he takes his batting that seriously now. Link to comment
