Its a nice short tournament though. Only a few people that I know in the USA followed the French open where Serena Williams won. I wonder if that constitutes the French open as an unworthy tournament. I like your logic.

Its a nice short tournament though. I have to be honest and say even most people in India that I know are not taking this tournament seriously. There's too much cricket nowadays and people watch matches just like a movie in the evening. World Cup is something entirely different though. Its the ultimate prize in World cricket and we grow up dreaming of our teams winning the cup. There's no comparison between WC and any other test/ODI/T20 series as far as people are concerned. CT is good because only the best compete but its just another ODI tournament at the end of the day. But I wish they would cut down on meaningless games in first round of WC and change the format to make it more interesting right from the start.

That's how much it meant to the teams and the cricket fans in the two countries. Can anybody even remember the finalists or even the victors of all the ct without the help of google?
