Are the venues out for the SA Test series? I don't think so - it will depend on venues and the innings India bat in to predict some scores. SA are bound to give some tough venues to start with and will ease out towards the 3rd Test match or so. IMO, if India bat 2nd we may see Virat doing well in the first Test match else looks difficult. I will back Pujara to do well regardless of conditions - particularly since he's on the 'A' tour and would be acclimatized better than Virat.
its out of Durban, Cape Town, Johannesburg, or Centurion http://sports.ndtv.com/cricket/news/206228-indias-tour-of-south-africa-to-start-in-december-durban-cape-town-likely-venues im hoping for Durban

younis >pujara and kohli easily.. also asad scored on easiest track for subcontinent teams and that too when ball got bit older and not to forget he has plenty of experience now.. just look at what happened to that team on bowling tracks:giggle:
as of now, yeah. however, i know india will get much faster and bouncier tracks than pakistan, so it'll be tougher for us

In first 2 tests SA looked ordinary when Aus got through new ball. But when they strike early like in 3rd test they get teams out cheaply. Then the Amla's and ABD's pile on the runs.
:agree: its all about getting through that initial phase but now its not just steyn and morkel, there is philander as well :fear:

That experience nonsense is why people want SRT there but I feel Nohit or DK would do better job at 6. If Tendulkar were to play he should leave key spot at 4 at least and play at 6. Against Saffers it's crucial the top order stands up, can't be weak links there.

ofc these guys have future in their own hands but younis is very good player and has proved himself almost everywhere.. also even he had habit of scoring big tons like pujara:winky: currently its easy younis is much more accomplished cricketer than pujara or kohli and him performing there was not a surprise and definitely not a sign that any one can score 100 against that track..

Think, by now we could have another youngster in his place with atleast 15+ matches of experience

younis is good player, but i wouldn't consider him a great of the game. Pujara and Kohli have potential to be ATGs. i think for me, thats what differentiates them. Otherwise, ya, YK is better than them.

Think' date=' by now we could have another youngster in his place with atleast 15+ matches of experience[/quote'] i want srt to go to south africa now since there is no one else who has toured south africa before.. pujara did for 2 tests and did not last for long last time around.. experience is some times overrated but going which entire batting line up in alien conditions can be very risky.. even i wanted tendulkar to just retire from odis after world cup and tests after he failed in australian tour but now i dont know...i guess its too late to change team.. do we even play any test before that series ?

ya he'll make sure he completes 200 tests and then retire. i think pujara will do better this time around with the A tour experience in his belt. Last time, BCCI just gave him to the wolves. Imagine being a young batsman whose first overseas tour is against best pace attack in the world. no we dont play any tests, we just play rubbish ODIs with Aussies :((

IMO he's along the lines of sangakkara

But he can't bat in top 4. No way he is gonna average above 35, this is a certainty. Maybe at home he might but not away against the best attack at 40 years age. I would rather take a punt. Completely new worked in ODI's hopefully works in Tests. Last thing you want is such a weak link in top order. Whereas Nohit would score 100's every test with his tailunt. :winky: (semi srs)

i think either rahane or any batsman who steps up in A tour will take #6 spot. just saying.....

i get ur point (other than last line :finger:) but u just cannot send whole new batting line up to tour away from home in toughest conditions for batsmen where every team is scoring atleast one under 50 score in every series since last season! :hysterical: i think tendulkar's main role will be to guide youngsters .. no one should debut in south africa:giggle:

So' date=' no Port Elizabeth - don't hope for Durban on the first morning of a new Test match series. You may get blown by the "green mamba".[/quote'] There have been reports of boxing day test match coming back this year and that's one which will obviously be played at Durban. I guess centurion and cape town will be the other two venues.

Not a quality bowler, he has been lucky most of the time, has a quite poor average in England, Srilanka and UAE. He has never been a threat to English batsmen. Media hyped up the bloke.
