I dont think Indian players are over hyped..actually they R talented & more often than not they deliver The biggest criticism about Indian Cricket players is the young ones who performed well in IPL & are thought to be the next superstar but doesnt deliver when it comes to the big league.. But unlike other countries, the expectations are valid because they performed in the IPL against some of the best bowlers in the world.. so expectations are justified to some extent I also agree with almost all the people who says BangBros & Pak fans about their over hyped cricketers.. I'll go with BanBros..they r the most pathetic lot when it comes to their players..cant do **** but think they they can win a world cup single handedly from their players Atleast Pakistan fans only hype their fast bowlers..and I dont think they r that bad.. Pakistan Fast bowlers hav always been gud.. and Ajmal is a damn good spin bowler.. So pakis hav some basis to their expectations from their bowlers... thats something those pathetic BangBros cant even compare with..so BangBros for me

I dont think we hype up players..the only talk in recent time was on Kusal Perera...we had hi expectations because they guy was fearless & played shots a bit like Jayasuriya...he did very well in Aus & then in SL..he was consistent before the champions trophy.. We had expectations & was exited because he was replacing "Sexy Edges".. but we all knopw he should be persevered with..atapattu couldnt get past 10 runs in his first 5-6 innings i think..so ... Chandimal..the same story..was very consistent in Overseas..SA, Eng, Aus..infact was one of our best batsmen.. seems like he is out of form..but thats not an issue..he will come back in to form..& again not hyped up..just glad that we found a consistent youngster who could play well in bouncy swinging wickets.. We need to win the Finals if we r to get the chokers tags off our backs..We win tightly fought games in the group stages then let it go at the very end.. But oh man dont we fight..we fight all the way..so thats atleast something..

Agree, in SL they don't overhype players. Just that; Thriminnae = Sanga v2.6 -development Chandimal = Aravinda v2.2 -development Kusal Janith = Jayasuriya v2.1 -beta Akila Dananjaya = Murali v2.0 -beta And I think there are more releases to come :winky:

No side has been as consistent as India in ODIs in the last 5 years or so. Australia has done decently but they havent won any major tournaments.
