I think where I was disappointed in him was how reckless he was with his choice of words and statements. Truly pathetic. He should have calmed the frail nerves. actually he was known as the first RBI Gov who tried to use simple language in his reports and had regular interactions with the press. What reckless statements are you referring to?

What reckless statements are you referring to? Almost on any issue. You can look it up. Look no further than latest Monetary policy statement and meeting with bankers that followed. His statements on the rupee were just beyond belief. For a person in his position, to comment that there is very little RBI can do for the rupee is beyond belief. Question is not whether he can or cannot. Question is, he knows that investors are weighing every word of his statement. Better to be quiet or cautiously optimistic. Look how Chidu mama handled the same questions. Of course he and Chidu were not best of friends.
