Even the author Max fisher concedes in the may 17th 2013 piece that "reducing such a complicated, subjective phenomenon to a single metric is going to produce some highly disputable results." He then quotes a professor who disagrees with his conclusions. He does not refute the professor. But in the recent august 2013 article posted by the OP, the author max fisher makes the same claim as in the original may15th article ignoring all the opposing views he has received till now. It's like he has forgotten his own may 17th piece.
