I still think openers would be in trouble in south Africa and cos of that chepu will fail too But batting looked good and bowling line up after long long time looks like a unit which can bowl prolonged spells with intensity and pressure Now need to get yadav in form and hope he is in rhythm ..that is our chance to surprise szffers But I am having feeling man that now tendulkar will go and team might have mental block :nervous:

It's not about WI. It's just that Rohit has looked so assured in Tests. In ODIs, he has often looked like a fish out of water, but here he seems to know all he needs to do to build an innings. The way he ignored singles at 49 and ran a risky single to complete his 50 was unbelievable from a guy who is just playing his 2nd Test. In Test cricket, temperament is the key component for me and Rohit rocks in that. And Kohli is still pretty dodgy in that department (in Tests). Having said all this, SA is just 2 Tests and Rohit may well do badly there. But he clearly will do well in the long term once he has a hang of the overseas adjustments to make.

I don't think there is any series in which he has been among the Top 3 scorers for India except Aus (where everyone failed) and one NZ series (which going by his tailunt, is phenomenal underachievement). On the other hand, Pujara is probably the top scorer in each series. Rohit will be the top scorer in this one.

Whatever I said about Kohli is based on his performances; regarding Australia, even Vijay outscored him. SA is too small a sample size, we can easily place a bet on the England series.

Plus, he looks shaky overall. With whatever little Rohit has played, he looks more assured. Pujara is obviously at a different level. c) The problem a with small sample size is that 'luck' becomes an issue. Someone gets a bad decision, someone gets a lucky reprieve and things change.
