Farokh Engineer vs MS Dhoni [TESTS]

Well I had recently opened a thread for an All-Time Indian XI - http://www.indiancricketfans.com/showthread.php?t=305726 Almost everyone had the same set of openers - Sehwag and Gavaskar Similar set of middle order batsmen and also the bowlers. The major discussion turned out whether Farokh Engineer deserves a place in the team or MS Dhoni. I had selected Dhoni in my XI, but after reading some opinions, stats, etc. I'm beginning to feel that Engineer was better than Dhoni in tests. Your views? Discuss. engineer..was a better keeper and an avg of 31 odd was pretty good at that time

Dhoni needs to improve on his wicketkeeping and his batting in Tests. I have no complaints regarding his batting in ODI's, but his defensive methods in tests and the fact that he may endup as a walking wicket in away matches frustrates me a lot. I thought he could be something more in Test matches when he first arrived.

Dhoni has handled captain's responsibility also and has some match winning knocks in tests in SC, so he edges it for me.
