rkt.india Posted December 3, 2013 Posted December 3, 2013 The Delhi High Court on Tuesday remanded Bollywood actor Rajpal Yadav to 10 days' judicial custody for concealing facts about a Rs.5 crore recovery suit filed against him and his wife by a Delhi-based entrepreneur. Justice S. Murlidhar also asked Yadav's wife to remain present in the Registrar General's office till the rising of the court. The judge also issued a contempt of court notice against two lawyers representing the couple. Justice S. Murlidhar had earlier warned the couple of issuing non-bailable warrant (NBW) on their repeated failure to appear before him. On Monday, Rajpal came to the high court before lunch. However, his wife Radha failed to appear before the court even after repeated instructions to her lawyer. The court said: "You tell your client the consequence will be severe. You are dealing with the court here. I don't think your client is aware. If I issue a non-bailable warrant, they will be brought here." Rajpal and Radha are facing legal trouble after a Delhi-based entrepreneur, M.G. Agarwal (owner of Murli Projects), filed a case against them in the high court for failing to repay a loan of Rs.5 crore the actor took in 2010 to make his Hindi debut directional film "Ata Pata Laapata". The court earlier noted the couple have repeatedly breached the undertakings given by them to repay the loan amount. As the couple failed to give a firm undertaking on whether they were prepared to pay the entire outstanding amount, the court asked them to remain present in court on the next hearing. The court also asked them to give details of Rajpal's bank statement for the past three years and the film assignments for which the actor was expecting payment. More about Rajpal Yadav: Rajpal Yadav belongs to Shahjahanpur in Uttar Pradesh where he was associated with local theatre. After theatre training at the Bhartendu Natya Academy in Lucknow during 1992-94, Yadav went to the National School of Drama in Delhi for a two-year course. In 1996, Yadav came to Mumbai to try his luck as an actor. He was a part of many rural theatrical plays in the North-East. The first major break came when Yadav got to act in the Doordarshan's television serial Mungeri ke bhai Naurangilal as the main protagonist who daydreams and as a result lands up in a comic situation. This was sequel to a similar television program on Doordarshan: Mungerilal Ke Haseen Sapne. Yadav's entry in Bollywood was incidental. Director Ram Gopal Varma spotted Yadav in the audience of his movie 'Mast' wherein he has also played a small role as a server in a café. RGV gave him a challenging role in his next film Jungle. Although Yadav found success in negative roles, he has preferred comic roles such as in Pyaar Tune Kya Kiya and went on to become a prolific comedian in Hindi films.
