Lets not be naive. Now BCCI has 33% of the votes that it needs automatically. In 5 years time when BCCI, ECB and CA are the only boards that matter, it already has 33% of the votes again.

Can you tell me one other body of organization (thats not a charity) that takes from one board and gives it to other or have practices to do so at the same time controlling so much what the other boards do?

G_B_ Posted January 18, 2014 Posted January 18, 2014 yes i dont mind bcci asking more income from icc tournaments. But you cant have a system whereby there are two tiers of cricket and Aus India and England cannot be relegated. Thats as good as a fixed league.

Basically restricting test cricket to the big 3 while others slowly lose interest. SL and WI as it is cut test series and organize meaningless t20s and ODIs. Moreover if members are allowed to organize series bilaterally and are not bound by ICC to play all teams within a stipulated period. Think about what they could do with it, organize t20 leagues, once or twice a year a not play international cricket at all..

alexander Posted January 18, 2014 Posted January 18, 2014 Tests at this rate will die sans in the UK and Aus. ODIs will survive as they are the best marketing tool. Advertisers love ODIs, and they are often exciting. T20 will proliferate forever more.

Let Srini go and you will know exactly what BCCI agrees on.The man is a megalomaniac.Idiot of the highest order,shameless beyond measure,power hungry like Lady Macbeth.He has already made a mess of BCCI's constitution so that he can hold on to the post till time stands still and now he wants to hog the ICC. But as you go up you make a lot of enemies and you can only favour X no. of people.He will go this year,no matter how he tried to get eastern division votes by giving favours to Biswal and Chaudhary he still doesnt have many friends in BCCI and if BJP wins he will surely lose the vote of the 3 govt. affiliates.He is going and then a ton of bricks will fall on him.

I like to think that they have the best interests in the game but nah.... Every team should tour home and away minimum of 3 tests, 5 ODIs and 2 T20 in the space of four years. Cover IPL, if they want to play IPL they miss out on national selection if there is a series going on, if not then they can freely play. Go back to what worked in the 90's with the FTP.
