MM, He is a good find. But dont get over elated. We've been there, done that to see dramatic downfalls with Indian players. Slow and steady elation advised. It takes time to confirm if he is a true 'gem' ala a Tendulkar or Dravid or Kapil Dev et.al. - Folks who endured decade(s) of cricket at top class.

i like his hayden like batting style..walking down the pitch to play against the fast bowlers... this just messes up any sort of plan..any bloody line and length bowler..will get a royal screwing against such type of players.. thats why pietersen was successful against Mcgrath...as he walked up to the pitch of the ball...and since he is good at playing hook or pull shot...it negates any idea of bouncing the batsman by the bowler... Uthappa has very strong shoulders..and he plays good hook and pull shots...he is an ideal number 4 ...

He is batting well lower down the order, however I have only seen him do well once away from home and still havent seen consistency at the top order from him. However, he looks to be a good player of the future, definately a gem for india

uthappa is champion in the making, he can bat at any position in ODI's. he deserves a chance to prove himself in tests as well. BTW sreesanth could be the hero of dunston checks in (part 2)
