G_B_ Posted February 9, 2014 Posted February 9, 2014 After watching the Sa and NZ tour in progress i get a feeling that India are feeling the pressure of being on the road for nearly 4 months in a row. The problem with India is at the moment we play nearly 1 year at home before 1 year away. I hope the BCCI finds a balance. Every year we should host 2 home series and tour for 2 away series. Home tour 1. late October-November time during Diwali. tour 2 late Feb- March Holi April-May --- IPL Away December-Jan Tour 1 to the southern countries (SA Aus Nz Zim) late June-July-Aug Tour 2 to England WI SL BD Sept Champions League t20 Pak not included as i dont know when we will play them. This type of scheduling will mean that India play about 6 tests at home and 6 tests away. A balance.

I hope that doesn't come true. We need a balance as you rightly stated.

Also i doubt every player from India will be involved in the champions league for example. Its a case of resting and rotating the side. Every side has to do that now a days with the volume of cricket being played. I echo what your saying with regards to more home tours and less away tours. But i think so long as india manage to tour the top 10 nations once every 2 years (or two away tours per year) we should be fine. Maybe what will happen is India will continue to tour away and call only big sides at home. Expect Sa, Aus and England to tour India a lot more often. While India will continue to tour BD, Zim WI and NZ to keep the votes intact.

If the new revamp earns them more than before, they would juice out as much fuel as they can from it. Hopefully, they don't as you said, this is the pefect opportunity to have a balanced schedule and earn more or the same.
