Which is why you would not able to understand why people have issues with Dravid being kicked out and not SRT. xxx
Snide remark. That statement makes absolutely no sense. What are you trying to say, that SRT looked incompetent in tests?

Why dont u read my posts about differentiating wrt tests and odi's?
But your quote had to do with performance being the criteria for selection, which isnt with Tendulkar

Bumper, Tendulkar has played well in last 5 tests avg at 60. filtered 5 482 122* 60.25 2 2 4 2/35 52.25 0 8 0
Dont make that cardinal sin of including Bangladesh :haha: The man averages 31.75 in his last 15 tests against non minnows. He is our worst test bat in the last two years

It has to be (whether it is Test or ODI - it has to be). But I guess you will never agree on that. Some warped logic of - "for Tests, we need not look at perf as the main criteria". For Tendulkar, we will look beyond performance. Some hero worshipping that. Hopefully selectors wont think that way forever.

This is even more hilarious, so for the more important Tests performance is never a criteria ?:hysterical:

For your reading pleasure folks Batsmen ordered by their Test averages since Ind-SL 2005 minus Bangladesh KKD Tests Inn NO Runs Ave 100 50 0 4 8 1 364 52.00 0 4 1 Dravid Tests Inn NO Runs Ave 100 50 0 18 33 5 1406 50.21 3 9 0 Ganguly Tests Inn NO Runs Ave 100 50 0 10 17 2 618 41.20 0 4 1 Jaffer Tests Inn NO Runs Ave 100 50 0 13 25 0 992 39.68 3 5 1 Laxman Tests Inn NO Runs Ave 100 50 0 17 30 5 974 38.96 2 7 2 Sehwag Tests Inn NO Runs Ave 100 50 0 15 26 1 891 35.64 2 2 5 Irfan Pathan Tests Inn NO Runs Ave 100 50 0 10 14 0 476 34.00 0 4 2 Dhoni Tests Inn NO Runs Ave 100 50 0 20 29 2 915 33.88 1 5 1 Yuvraj Tests Inn NO Runs Ave 100 50 0 11 17 2 491 32.73 1 2 3 Tendulkar Tests Inn NO Runs Ave 100 50 0 15 25 1 762 31.75 1 4 1 Tendulkar is our WORST TEST BATSMAN, in the last two years, finishing below Irfan Pathan, Dhoni & Yuvraj interms of average. Even interms of no. of runs he is SIXTH in the list, which doesnt say much, as people below him viz -- KKD, Ganguly, Yuvraj & Pathan, have all played far fewer no. of innings Some performance this!

since the start of SAF tour minus BD. not droppable. captain-worthy - of course not.

Your logic completely beats me. Care to explain what you mean by "performance is diminished in importance" for Tests ?

He has more than 50 avg against Pak and Aus excluding the two innings he DNB against Pak.

Its a personal thing. If a person has ability, I would back him, even if he isnt performing, for a longer period of time in test cricket, as compared to ODI cricket.

But yoda, dont you realize that this man does not have it in him anymore to average over 35 against even half decent attacks ? Every player goes thru a rough patch & then makes up for it. In Tendulkar's case, his best series avg in the last two years is 38.00 Sehwag, Dravid, Laxman, Ganguly, KKD and heck even Yuvraj have averaged above 50 in some series in this time. This aint a dip in form from Tendulkar, as he never fails to bash Bangladesh, rather an IRREVERSIBLE dip in ability or class

In which year, 1999 ?:haha: If you are referring to the 2006 Ind-Pak series, Tendulkar averages 26 in that series

In the all important ODI tamashas, performance becomes a key factor in deciding who plays for the team, but in the more rigorous longer version, performance is never a criteria. Thats the first time i have heard that!

Do I need to say that? SRT was a walking wicket during his worst phase. Let me leave you with following performance to ponder. 2004/05 against Australia 9th in batting average :tomato: 2004/05 against SA 6th in batting average 2004/05 against Pakistan 4th in batting average 2005/06 against SL 5th in batting average 2005/06 against Pakistan 10th in batting average :tomato: 2006 England SRT 9th in batting averages :tomato: And this man was NOT dropped. :hysterical::hysterical:

Check your stats Man. He played Aussies at Sydney and hit a double century IN 04-05. Pak tour including the innings he didnt bat averaged at 32.

He played reasonably well against England, the best I have seen him in a while in tests.
