SLICKR392 Posted April 6, 2014 Posted April 6, 2014 Link Bucks has hijacked my browsers. All of them. It redirects most of the links and I get plenty of errors in Chrome. Tried re-installing it with an 'advanced uninstaller'. I have tried to the reset option on both the browsers (chrome/fox). Even IE is affected. Lol Not a big issue, since its on my old laptop, which I use roughly. Its highly annoying though as I am way from my PC and I use this one usualy. Any solution? Unisntalled all the extionsions too. Redirects to this page and usually get Chrome's 'webpage not available' error.
achilles Posted April 6, 2014 Posted April 6, 2014 Try using Malwarebytes' Anti Malware tool. Should work well. I would also recommend Microsoft Security Essentials/Avast. Use both in Safe Mode and do a heuristic scan.
GolGappe Posted April 6, 2014 Posted April 6, 2014 Malware Bytes is a great tool. Can also try this: http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/download/adwcleaner/
SLICKR392 Posted April 6, 2014 Author Posted April 6, 2014 Thanks. Will check out that S/W. The errors are annoying!
SLICKR392 Posted April 8, 2014 Author Posted April 8, 2014 Tried it now. Plenty of threats were detected, and I cleaned it with this software but the error's still there.
SLICKR392 Posted April 14, 2014 Author Posted April 14, 2014 Just use Microsoft Security Essentials. Windows Defender removed it. :two_thumbs_up: Finally!
