To be fair it was the straightening of the arm that got him into trouble in the first place.

Isn't straightening of the arm that gives him accuracy ? Difficult to be accurate with a crooked arm.

Actually chucking by definition means getting arm straight from a bent position

I think they mean that he shouldn't be having his arm bent so much in the first place, before straightening it. If his arm is not that bent he wouldn't be straightening it through all those degrees.
