Guest dada_rocks
While coming back travelling in Vaishali express I kind of dozed off with my luggage still not secured in chain.. One elderly gentleman ( hari Prsad Verma) who I later on found was the train loco-pilot ( driver) woke me up and asked to get my luggage tied in chain. I expressed inabaility to do so due to unavailablit of chain and lock. Over this he gave me lilttle lecture on how u young guys are so irresponsible and then lent me his own chain and lock free of cost. I thanked him and went to sleep after sometime my cynical mind said that other keys of that lock most probably still is with uncleji what if he turns out to be the crook. I kept myself awake. After sometime a lady came crying bitterly following TTE till A/C bogey .her problem: she had no money to go froom station to her place in delhi fifty rs she had was taken away by TTE despite the fact that she had ticket. TTE cud be pricks. Vermaji again confronted that TTE and made sure she gets her 50 Rs back. By now I was convinced Vermaji is not upto any tricks with my luggage and went off to sleep. Near chhapra I again was woken up, Vermaji took leave . I cud not have thanked him more. Wherever u are Vermaji if India is still working it's due to people like you. Lurker
Abbe elderly gentleman are not crooks DR. Atleast I have not yet met any elderly gentleman who has tried to take advantage. But good to see that he restored the faith in humanity a bit.

Vermajii's over-all approach to life seemed top notch.. While he was giving tips to that train superintendent I overheard him saying "above all u need to live life without worry.." Kya hoga kalh ko kendriya vetanmaan aa jayega fir 20 ki jagah aapko 50000 milane lagega phir bhi wo kam hi padega.. chinta chhoriye, chinta chita samaan hoti hai....Ever smiling
varun
Vermajii's over-all approach to life seemed top notch.. While he was giving tips to that train superintendent I overheard him saying "above all u need to live life without worry.."Most old-timers ahve that approach DR. I always remember what my Nana's motto in life is "Aish without Cash" :haha: Fought during the world war, eloped with a rich guy's daughter in rawalpindi, was Nehru's driver and confidante, and sang "zindagi ko dhoeen mein udata chala gaya". Spoke to him yesterday after my granny died, and he misses her but that hasn't faltered his spirit. That's the way to live man. Worries are too petty to be bogged down with. The younger generation could do well to learn a thing a two from them.
Gaurav
Exactly Varun. Life will regularly kick you in the nuts but most people spoil even the good times by worrying about unknown future nut crushing events :hysterical:
