Southee is miles better than Morkel and has been taking wickets at the same average as Dale Steyn over the last 2 years. He's not as quick as those two, no, but if you look at the bouncer that got Kohli in the first test it was completely unplayable. Similarly, he repeatedly got Pujara with some unplayable outswingers. Give the opposition some credit.

Obviously he's not better than Dale Steyn, but noone in the world is except Johnson on a good day. Shami is a good bowler, but he doesn't yet have Tim Southee's record over the last 2 years: Test bowlers over the last 2 years 78 wickets at an average of 22.58. Marginally behind Steyn, Harris and Johson. In India, England, Sri Lanka, NZ and the West Indies. So no, it's not "hilarious" for him to be getting Indian batsmen out. Good bowlers take the wickets of good batsman. That's cricket.
