Random stat of the day - Australian Test team in sight of long standing record !

The record for most consecutive test series victories is now under serious threat. Australia are currently in the process of completing a 7th STRAIGHT Test series victory and assuming that they DO beat Sri Lanka 1-0 or 2-0, they will be in sight of the ALL-TIME RECORD, which is 9 straight test series wins, held by the 1884-1891 England side. Talk about a long standing record !! By completing a series victory, they will also equal their OWN record for most consecutive test series wins, which is 7 ! They have done the 7 straight THREE times - which is simply unheard of. The most recent of these three winning streaks was from '01 (South African series and onwards) 'til '04 (home series vs Zimbabwe). Guess which team stopped them from making it eight ? :D This will be the case in December as well, when the MIGHTY TITANS OF INDIAN CRICKET fly down under for a tour. So you see, there is MORE than just a series victory at stake here for the Aussies. If, heaven forbid, Australia causes a massive upset by actually...*gasp*...BEATING India, then they can look forward to the p iss-easy formality of beating those Pakistani weaklings in their following test series - a feat that will equal the 9 straight record. After comprehensively horse-whipping the Pakistanis, they tour the Windies, where they will (in all likelihood) easily secure another p iss-easy test series win - thereby causing a century long record to fall. The Indian cricket team must not let this happen !!!!!!!!!!! Time to kick some ass ---- For the record, WI also won 7 straight - their sequence stretching from '83 'til '86, but this is the ONLY instance of a team other than Australia achieving such a winning streak.
