Females in general tend to be more practical and common-sense oriented than men' date=' believe it or not. What you said is mostly true i find.[/quote'] I wouldnt say that women are more practical Bongo but I do think that women, in general, dont give a damn to notion of nation. Why? Perhaps one reason could be that men tends to identify with some "thing". Like sports. Most men, if not all, create an identity or sorts with cricket, football, baseball and what have you. Women dont. Even if they really love a sports it remains a sport, for most of them anyway. I think concept of nation(or religion) connects on some level with a sense of identity. And while most women would be proud to be citizen of XYZ country maybe they are not as attached as men are? xxx

Very true' date=' but for Indian women is mostly - whatever the husband is! don't you think[/quote'] Overall they do, or used to do Rajeev. Times are changing very fast. Females are more indepedent now, and it is not only from a career stand point. I have seen cases where an Indian girl got married to a NRI, the chap wants to go back but the girl likes it here. One aspect of this independence is the amount of divorces happening now, specially in IT/BPO areas. There can be various answers to this question. Like Bongo suggested maybe women are more practical? I think maybe they tend to avoid struggle a bit? Because going back would be a struggle. xxx

Yep. If you look at how society is fundamentally geared, men have mostly done most of the fighting and that is not just by chance...it is evolutionary. men are more expendable than women. As far as nature is concerned, our prime directive is done in 30 minutes of ecstacy. However, historically, women have brought up the kids, women are the evolutionary priority. Maybe this is why women arn't as aggressive as men inherently are. Afterall, nature protects its priorities from senseless violence.

LOL' date=' nice..so she settled herself without going through those visa tensions etc - an easy ticket to life in USA[/quote'] Yep. happens quite often actually. Last time i attended a few social gatherings in India ( less than a year ago), i had a fair amount of 'girls flocking to me' element to it, all enquiring about how life is like in canada, what i do, etc etc. in a professional sense. All neatly disguised in the 'showing interest' package....can't say i was offended or displeased- its not often i go to 3-4 parties and have half a dozen girls pretending to be blondes around me. What i didn't like is how some of my father's friends/old time neighbours would introduce me with such fanfare to their daughters that you'd think Achilees himself has showed up in his warrior-spendour.

So do females' date=' in general, dont give a damn to notion of nation? :deal:[/quote'] In my personal experience, I've noticed that girls these days like to stay back in India, although it's hardly ever due to patriotism, but more due to family ties & friends, desi entertainment, servants, and food :cantstop:

Maybe because this a topic that simply can not be argued? You either feel a certain way or you don't. By the way a question for you - Do you think females in general are much more ambivalent towards the notion of country? I mean I hear guys talk about going back but girls really wouldnt care. And while for a guy it is a big deal to say leave India and move to US just for marriage, for females it is considered the norm. So do females, in general, dont give a damn to notion of nation? :deal:
Cant' argue with feelings.. every one has got one may be more than one who knows depending pon which board he/she is writing one of them comes through.. Girls remain mentally prepared to get uprooted from one place and planted to another through institution of marriage anyway.. But teven this is changing boy I have fight for how many days we are going to stay at my parents place and how many at her parents place before every india visit.......
