Rajiv Posted January 21, 2007 Posted January 21, 2007 Pardon me, but is there any specific preparation or it just happens
King Posted January 21, 2007 Posted January 21, 2007 Re: What makes a ground lightning fast? A dry outfield, low cut grass or patchy outfield will make the outfield fast.
Rajiv Posted January 21, 2007 Author Posted January 21, 2007 Re: What makes a ground lightning fast? thanx, any reason all grounds dont tend to make it that way
King Posted January 21, 2007 Posted January 21, 2007 Re: What makes a ground lightning fast? Yeah the curators sometimes don't really mow the grass in the outfield a day or two before the game sometimes. Also depends on how quickly the grass grows back. The grass grows back quickly during summer over here and in winter it grows really slowly due to frosty conditions. The type of grass in the outfield differs too. Some grow back quickly while the others don't. From my knowledge the grass in the outfield is not cut on the day of the game or the day before.

King Posted January 21, 2007 Posted January 21, 2007 Re: What makes a ground lightning fast? No worries Rajeev, every week we keep moaning at the amount of grass left on the outfield for our games to our club committee here so have a bit of knowledge. :hic:
