Yes, I am surprised by this too. It is one thing to be pissed off at the BCCI. It is another to cut your nose to spite your face. Obviously cricket crazy Indians have to be their primary target audience. Yet none of the site seems to be focused on their target audience. Even the language used in the commentary, the inside terms, the discussions, the by-play all seem more British than Indian English. And this can be a big turn off for Indian audiences who won't even understand the slangs and context. Some of these commentators are Indian yet their jokes are deliberately high-brow They are not going to remain on top for long. There is a good market in this if other sites just buck up

Exactly. A complete lack of understanding of the target audience. In the last couple of years CI has messed up the layout and the content of that website. It has totally messed the relationship with BCCI and cue complete alienation from the Indian team. at least you'd expect the editors to give some insight about the Indian team - with their contacts and all. But seems like even the players don't want to talk to them. It was a joke when Ishant's injury was revealed to them only during the toss - like the rest of us. I mean the hero of the previous match. Add to this jokers doing the ball by ball. The english commentators think its kind of a favor and they emulate sky sports kind of "Us vs them" in their commentary. And the other wannabes blindly try copying that or try to be "sickular" (trying to show they're high brow) by taking a critical biased stance. Honestly I am happy with mere scorecards.
