THX_1138 Posted November 19, 2007 Posted November 19, 2007 NETFLIX all the way. i have had a subscribtion on and off since august 2002 when the site was launched and its a rather satsifying experience. the dvds reach rather quickly (dont get tempted by the drive to your local blockbuster and drop off bull since at 2am in the night you wont be driving to your local blockbuster let alone find one open). Netflix has a significantly larger library and it has a better queing system. most dvds arrive within 24 hours and then there is the additional benefit of watching movies online form their site though their watch online library is rather limited (but you can watch all old television classics like red dwarf, doctor who, yes prime minister, most discovery channel documentaries etc etc).

Hehe...you start to watch at 2am...reminds me of someone :P no. the watch online facility is bundled with all packages (free of additional cost) of 3 dvds at a time or more. lately, they have even offered this to people who take the 1 dvd at a time but remain customers for over three months.

The view online works on a 1 hr of viewing time per dollar for the plan you have. So $17 plan gives you 17 hrs of online viewing which is approx 7-8 english movies in addition to the ones you get by mail. But the viewing online selection is rather limited. Though I actually watched Satyajit Ray's Charulata, which I'm sure my local BB wouldn't carry, nor would the online BB. QED.
