any runs scored off the bat, or appendages connected to the bad via padded medium are considered runs scored off the bat. this decision is in the pegatory between obstruction of wicket by leg or merely a bye (since the upper was not connected to the bat). a rather dubious decision since a verdict either ways is not possible without substantial debate and thus one must err in the favor of the batsman. but then again youre a git so yeah a good decision.
