Mitch Marsh: A future great

M. Marsh is making a lot of noise these days. The aussie captain M. Clarke was all praise for this 22 y.o all rounder. The aus coach lehmann & selectors have also showed faith in him. He seems be in direct competition with the veteran all rounder shane watson & we may see him being drafted into their test team vs pakistan in the uae. Mitch it seems has leap frogged the likes of faulkner & moises henriques for the all rounders spots in tests atleast.

more of a batting all rounder like watson whereas faulkner is more a bowling allrounder, henriques should be left out of the conversation.

Reguarly takes 3-4 wickets in FC cricket. He is a true A/R. Faulkner is diabolical at test level, hope we never go there again.

Faulkner is diabolical at test level' date=' hope we never go there again.[/quote'] yeah he's great takes 1.5 wickets per match, faulkner takes 3.4 wickets a match, has a better average and a better strike rate. mitch doesn't bowl as often as faulkner and that's why mitch is a batting all rounder oh but wait faulkner has a better FC batting average than mitch and is 147 runs behind him in 4 less innings. mitch might have the potential to be a true all rounder, moreso than faulkner, but so far based on performance faulkner has come out better, however mitch quite clearly plays the batting all rounder role and faulkner quite clearly plays the bowling all rounder role, there is no argument here. faulkner diabolical at test level? he took 6 wickets in his only match, how horrible!

True i too was wondering about it. Not sure whether faulkner/ mitch can bat in top 6 (considering haddin likes to bat at 7) tough after watson retires.

Oh please. Marsh averaged 50 with the bat last year, and faulkner was beyond dreadful, he has no footwork. Faulkner is just a slogger that gets away with it a few times. Marsh is quicker and has more weapons with the ball. 4 of those 'wickets' were 2nd innings slog wickets, they were hardly good bowling, anyone could have got them, they were trying to his his meat pies out of England!
