Preview What The Southern Express will look to set the cat among the pigeons when they take on the Lahore Lions in Qualifier 5 of the Oppo CLT20 2014. Southern Express are yet to open their account and lie at the floor of the standings. But they will be aware that a win in this match will put them level with the Mumbai Indians and the Lahore Lions, and a convincing win could even propel them to second place in the points table. For that to happen, they need a massive improvement all round, and need to sustain the intensity for the complete forty overs of the contest. Lahore Lions were clinical in their win over the Mumbai Indians on the opening day but were blown away by table-toppers Northern Knights the following day. Pakistan’s domestic T20 champions were sloppy in the field and their batsmen had no answers to some top-class pace bowling from Tim Southee and Trent Boult. Mohammad Hafeez and his team will be aware that a win will propel them back to second place and put the pressure on Mumbai Indians, who will contest the final qualifying stage match against table-toppers Northern Knights. When Tuesday, September 16, 2014, 4 p.m IST Where Chhattisgarh International Cricket Stadium, Raipur The Protagonists For Southern Express to do well, the batsmen need to fare better on the shot selection front. Several batsmen perished attempting to play aggressive shots very early in the innings. Kusal Perera is capable of muscling the ball and can demolish bowling attacks; however he needs to get his eye in before going hard at the ball. Danushka Gunatilake has got starts in both matches, but has got out at the wrong time and that has hurt the team. The other two experienced players in the line-up – skipper Jehan Mubarak and all-rounder Farveez Maharoof (who demonstrated he can be a very dangerous batsman in the match against the Mumbai Indians) - will be expected to stamp their authority in the later stages of the innings. The Lahore Lions have a better balanced side compared to their opponents. Nasir Jamshed, Ahmed Shehzad, Mohammad Hafeez and Umar Akmal are batsmen of international repute, and the onus lies on them to post the runs. On the bowling front, Asif Raza has been an able aide to the experienced medium-pace duo of Aizaz Cheema and Wahab Riaz. The three quicks will be expected to provide regular breakthroughs and lift the pressure off the inexperienced spin attack. Previous Meetings This is the first time the two teams will be meeting in a T20 contest. Trivia Three of the four matches played so far in the qualifying stage of the Oppo CLT20 2014 have been won by teams chasing. In the Lahore Lions’ match against the Northern Knights, Wahab Riaz bowled the fastest delivery of the match, registering 147.6kph on the speed gun. What Next The result of this match notwithstanding, the uncertainty over which two teams will progress to the main draw of the Oppo CLT20 2014 will remain until the final qualifying stage match is played immediately after this fixture.

4.6 Riaz to Mubarak, FOUR, oh dear! That's gone right through Cheema at short fine leg and Riaz wants to kill his team-mate! He's absolutely livid with him! Poor ball from Riaz though, short and down the leg side, Mubarak helps it away for four 5.6 Aizaz Cheema to Mubarak, FOUR, who's that who misfielded the ball now? Cheema's head goes down immediately. It's a substitute I am told. Short and wide outside off stump, Mubarak cuts it hard through cover-point

School Express are really pathetic. :haha: LL made their qualification hard themselves by capitulating against NK. A respectable loss would have meant more hard for MI. :giggle:
