gator
No glamor about them... KKD has once again demonstrated that he has the capability of taking India out of jail.... He showed that in the pro20 in SA, the 2nd innings of the test match where he was the lone fighter and again here. He has all the shots in the book, terrific hand-eye coordination and most of all, thrives under pressure.... I have been clamoring since a year for a case of including him as a pure batter and Colonel didnt disappoint... he has so much more to offer than Raina or Kaif or Laxman.... I believe, he sealed his WC spot today.... Link to comment
King Tendulkar
Re: Hats off to KKD and Aggy... Yes Karthick has neen sensational. Thrives unlike some of the others under pressue. Cert for a few months in both odi and test team. Link to comment
gator
Re: Hats off to KKD and Aggy... I forgot to mention the other occassion when he bailed us out of jail, with his classy 90 odd against Pak in the test at mohali... Link to comment

Gambit
Re: Hats off to KKD and Aggy... KKD and Dhoni should figure in our ODI lineup. This would be my ideal ODI lineup: Dhoni Sachin Ganguly Yuvi Dravid Sehwag KKD Link to comment

I see him displacing Dhoni from the Test team if he has a good world cup. and you feel, there are batsmen in the domestic circuit more talented than Dhoni who are unfortunately being blocked by these 2 wicketkeepers, any one of whom can be a pure batter? Gambit
Re: Hats off to KKD and Aggy... Dhoni's performances in the 2nd test in SA were creditable. He deserves to be part of the test team for now. Link to comment

No, I am just being realistic. With the four middle order Test slots almost written in stone (unjusifiably, IMO), there's place for only one WK. Link to comment

yoda
Re: Hats off to KKD and Aggy... Happy for KKD. The guy got one of the shortest ropes in tests due to Dhoni's meteoric rise in ODIs. Glad he isn't spending the rest of his career in Ranji just because he can also keep. Link to comment

Bumper
Re: Hats off to KKD and Aggy... Good knock KKD, he has proven to be a worthy enuff candidate for a longer rope. Too early to say if he could replace Dhoni, but KKD seems like a better investment than Raina, Mongia or Kaif Link to comment
Raj
Re: Hats off to KKD and Aggy... Very impressed by KKD, yet again, showing how he can bat on difficult surfaces... technically correct and a must for the WC 07. He will have more success on foreign soil without a doubt... Link to comment

Little more credibility than Raina in terms of temperament I think. Link to comment
gator
Re: Hats off to KKD and Aggy... Dr, u r comparing apples to oranges by comparing raina's achievements to KKD's..... KKD has performed under pressure in a test match against Pak on a seaming wicket in mohali, he has performed under pressure in the waterloo of indian batsmen - South Africa, both in testss and pro20, he has rescued india from 90/7 with a fantastic display of counter-attacking..... no comparison at all.... This lad and Sreesanth(tests) are the future..... No fear.... Link to comment
Inside_edge
Re: Hats off to KKD and Aggy... That 90 was a super match winning knock so as the 20-20 one and this one.It was a pity to see his efforts against SA was ruined by some timid, no-nerve innings from the rest. Link to comment
