SachDan
He is an unashabed fan of Ricky Ponting( check out his latest article on cricinfo) and don't want Sachin to create those records which Ponting can never surpass. He always says that Australia won or lost never mattered to him once he hung up his boots as an Aussie player. Only a foolwill belive what he says.. I am very dissappointed that ESPN-STAR has added him to the 'Few Good Men'team.Instead some one like Michael Atherton or Martin Crowe would have been a good choice. Link to comment
Keep-It-Cool
I think Ian Chappel rocks as a commentator ... and, I have found him to be very impartial and fair. Of course, he will praise Australia more than others ... because they are indeed playing at a totally different level. Link to comment

praveenj
may be because he thinks he is the god-father of ricky ponting.... and he wants to help him out by teasing god... Link to comment
bharat297
He was a very good cricketer and is simply expressing his opinion. If he feels Ponting is better than Sachin and that Australia will have too much pace for India this summer, then so be it. I don't really have a problem with it. I dont always agree with his opinion but who cares. Link to comment
praveenj
hmmmmm.... thats a good thing to do as well..... the best way of countering the critics is to ignore them.... Link to comment
Gambit
IanC is still an excellent commentator and is as non PC as they come. Very incisive and a very good analyst of the game. Link to comment
