Dhawan - 2 out of 10 - Too loose. Only one noteworthy innings. Vijay - 8 out of 10 - Excellent series for Vijay. Saw off new ball. Stepped up on the scoring rate whenever pressure was slightly off. Pujara - 4 out of 10 - One half-century and did block off lot of balls to help India draw in Melbourne. Shouldn't have been dropped but hopefully will emerge mentally stronger. Kohli - 9 out of 10 - Great series for new captain. This is probably the best India batsman has ever batted away from home. The only blot was twin failures in Gabba. Rahane - 8 out of 10 - Solid series for Rahane. The partnership with Kohli will be remembered for years. Rohit - 4 out of 10 - Showed some form in Sydney but technically very loose and lazy with shot selection. Rahul - 5 out of 10 - Disaster in Melbourne. Made up for some of it in Sydney. Dhoni - 4 out of 10 - Average as a batsman, average as a wicket-keeper, and average as a captain. Raina - 0 out of 10 - Hopefully this is the last time Project Raina will ever get to wear white uniform while representing India. Bhuvi - 4 out of 10 - Unfit and poor with ball. Very reliable lower order batsman. Ashwin - 5 out of 10 - Looks average with the ball but an awesome lower order batsman. India would have most likely lost in Sydney if it wasn't for batting contributions from Bhuvi and Ashwin. Rest of the bowlers - 1 out of 10 - No penetration, No discipline, no common sense. This is probably the worst India has ever bowled away from home in decades. Lot of work to be done in this department.

Your tails batting needs help as well, why is it India almost traditionally has a super weak tail? Reckon Glen McGrath would bat at 9 for most past and present Indian sides.

I would give Ishant a generous 3 out of 10, bowled with lot of heart, only to see being letdown by fellow pacers. Except his 1st innings at Brisbane test, where he looked ordinary at times, I don't think there was any rank poor spell from Ishant.

India did have a decent tail in mid to late 2000's. Harbhajan and Kumble chipped in regularly. Zaheer Khan could hold things up and even Ishant Sharma could block.
