I have seen some outstanding comedians joke about pedophilia, 9/11, holocaust, religion, Islam, etc, etc. h9DkK06zZ_o xRRtusi-9xw What people get 'offended' by shows their own insecurities, hence comedy is a great medium to show a mirror to people. Anyways, I will take these over men dressing up as women which seems to be 90% of Indian comedy
CSK Fan Posted January 18, 2015 Posted January 18, 2015 Racism is part of the the comedy theater now. We have to live with it. Actually, racism isn't even the right word to define it. Actually great comedians send subtle messages with their comedy. Their portrayal of racism (or other social issues) is deliberately supposed to be so over the top that they make such things seem ridiculous. The KKK lost support not by violence but when they became objects of ridicule in media. Soon no one was taking them seriously. Good comedy and satire address social issues by parodying them. And it usually helps when someone is joking about their own race/religion. Like a black comedian joking about their own race.
