devla Posted January 19, 2015 Posted January 19, 2015 Why did Aus get all 50 overs to chase the target? I thought if they bowled 45 overs in the allotted time, they would only get 45 overs to chase. Have the rules changed now?

I believe that is the case. If you bowl up to 2 less overs in the allotted time (200 minutes minus 10 minutes of drinks), the captain is fibed 20% per over. Over 2 overs (pun intended) being missed causes the captain to be banned for a match, if I recall correctly.
