  1. T20 narrows the gap between good teams and not so good teams. There’s hardly any time to recover from a bad start or bad run of play. In that sense two T20s back to back is an amazing achievement. Having watched the tradition of 50 over world cups since 83(55 over), I’d take the 50 over version over the 3 trophies. IMO, true test of cricket skills is test matches, true white ball skill is over 50 overs.
  2. it’s just the administrators. Mumbai, Chennai, Kolkata, Delhi had their runs too because of the administrators were from there. Do you think it was because they were fair? This will also move on once the administration moves to a different party. Matches of more significance have been lost at other venues, more times than I can count. Get over it.
  3. I don’t know why so much hatred for the venue and fans. I’m a gujju and biased but the people of the state deserve cricket as much as people of Delhi or Mumbai or Kolkata do. Baroda and Gujarat has produced a lot of talent for India as well - let’s not forget that. We can go back in history and find examples of fans behaving worse (bottle throwing, stoppages, starting fires, you name it) in all of the so-called traditional venues so to call the fans in Ahmedabad worse than Eden Gardens is a bit unfair. I would assume there’s a big contingent of visitors vs only locals so if the stadium goes quiet, it’s not just the local fans. I bet the same happens in other stadiums. I was there in the stadium for Sachin’s last day in Mumbai, the atmosphere was electric. I’m sure if India win, it will be similar in Ahmedabad. Here’s hoping India wins but if we don’t, it’s not because of the stadium or the fans.
  4. How media handles captains lately hasn’t helped either. More than on-field management, media seems to focus on how captain handles press conferences. It’s worked for Surya because of the strong team. He seems to shoo/humor away legitimate questions to hide the lack of depth in thinking .
  5. Amazing win yesterday. I didn’t think they could pull it off. Hats off.
  6. Here’s a comparison Healy vs Mandhana Litchfield vs Rawal/Verma Mooney vs Deol/Rodrigues Perry vs Kaur Gardner vs Sharma McGrath vs Ghosh Garth vs A Kaur Sutherland vs Rana King vs Charani Schutt vs Singh Brown vs Reddy If you pick two Indian players, I’ll de damned. INDW have made good progress but there is no comparison.
  7. Given a choice, would you pick Healy or Mandhana in your team?
  8. During Mithali Raj’s captaincy, Harmanpreet Kaur played so much better. Since she got the captaincy, she seems to be carrying a chip on her shoulder. Without her performing as a match winner, we have no chance. The rest of the team player for player is less capable than their counterparts, I.e., you would pick the Australian for every position.
