Captain of Bhangra Posted November 30, 2007 Posted November 30, 2007 After the traditional dismissal within the first 3 overs of Ganguly resuming an overnight innings, how much do you think Laxman and Jaffer will add to the total? Realistically? and do you think the Pakistan line-up is strong enough to challenge any total below 450?... I have an image in my mind that gives me inner-peace. Shoaib Akhtar charging in at full pelt, releases a thunderbolt that exceeds 100mph, skids off the surface, Jaffer leaves. The amazing, pacey, delivery continues at lighting speed, is misjudged in the take by Akmal, and hits him in the throat. Ahhhh *sigh*...
Anakin Posted November 30, 2007 Posted November 30, 2007 Dada will score a 100 tomorrow, that's what I know
sm332 Posted November 30, 2007 Posted November 30, 2007 We need to bat once and bat big ... 550-600 type score since this track looks very good for batting even know
Captain of Bhangra Posted November 30, 2007 Author Posted November 30, 2007 I hope it's not going to be a reverse repeat of those first 2 matches in Pakistan '06, I want the pitch to deteriorate badly!...
sm332 Posted November 30, 2007 Posted November 30, 2007 from what i recall Eden Gardens generally offers some purchase to bowlers later on ... but we must bat big enough such that the Pak players are under enormous pressure
Captain of Bhangra Posted November 30, 2007 Author Posted November 30, 2007 I remember the last match against them at this ground, which we won... We also batted first in that one, and were 344-6 by close of play on day 1... We only scored 407 in the first innings. (Weirdly, we made the exact same score in our second innings, and I think Dravid scored hundreds in both)...
MundaPakistani Posted November 30, 2007 Posted November 30, 2007 the pitch will certainly break up so unless PAK make a huge come back with the ball i don't see how they will be able to save this test match.
fineleg Posted November 30, 2007 Posted November 30, 2007 BAT BIG, BAT ONCE means 600+ is what Wasim Jaffer said in interview post match. If we dont get 550-600, we have failed to maximize our start.
Captain of Bhangra Posted November 30, 2007 Author Posted November 30, 2007 I think we'll get about 525...

chamatkar Posted November 30, 2007 Posted November 30, 2007 I actually want some records to be set straight.. like the one SL compiled against us with that mammoth 952/6 we were hit with.... Now I wouldn't mind wasting a full five days to get that blotch off ...

Now I wouldn't mind wasting a full five days to get that blotch off ... Winning match is more important. We need 550-600 to put pressure. After that work on getting 20 wickets.

The Outsider Posted December 1, 2007 Posted December 1, 2007 Superb to see Ganguly get a hundred at Calcutta. The atmosphere was terrific.
